Stargrunt II

Stargrunt II is a 25mm SF wargame produced by Ground Zero Games.

Inbound Chart

The models on this page are all from GZG, and have been painted by Samuel Penn. Trees from Last Valley. Photos by Samuel Penn, and are placed into the public domain for anyone to use.

Vehicles

Some photos of the 25mm vehicles I use for Stargrunt. They are either from Ground Zero Games or Old Crow Models. The trees in most of the photos are from The Last Valley, which as far as I am aware, doesn't have a web presence (but does do the rounds at UK wargames shows).

Extraction

This page contains some information about Stargrunt, a futuristic 25mm scale wargame for handling platoon size engagements. Currently, it mostly consists of some very simple TOEs, and a few photos.

To determine the quality of these units, see the rules for quality pools.

Neu Swabian League

An NSL infantry company will be a mix of troop types. Normally, there will be two heavy infantry platoons as well as a Jager platoon of light infantry. For a PA company, one of the platoons will be Powered Infantry.

Jager

The NSL Jager command squad shown above consists of the platoon commander, a GMS/P, Squad Sergeant, Trooper, SAW gunner and three further Troopers.

The Jager are lightly armoured troops used for recon and light assualt. They are equipped with Advanced assualt rifles with underslung grenade launchers and light armour.

A whole platoon is made up of 4 squads. Non-command squads are equipped with either a portable plasma gun or a rapid fire plasma gun as a heavy support weapon. The Platoon shown here also has a RAM team unit and an Anti-Personnel Armoured Walker.

Heavy Infantry

The heavy infantry make up the main assualt force of any NSL company.

Just like the Jager, an armoured squad may be equipped with either a portable plasma gun, or a rapid fire varient of it. A platoon is made up of three infantry squads plus a command squad. Grav APCs will be nearby to provide transport.

Some platoons may be supported by heavy armour, such as the Halberd Assault Gun, which is a Size 3 vehicle.

The FSE command squad shown above is comprised of (from left to right) the squad Sergeant, two troopers, a GMS/P, the platoon commander, a SAW gunner and two troopers.

An FSE platoon consist of 5 squads, including the command squad.

Colonist Militia

Most colony worlds will form their own militia to defend against raiders, criminals and enemy governments. They tend to be poorly equipped and trained, but can force attackers to think twice about their chances of making a quick profit through a raid.

This small platoon has a couple of squads plus a hover tank which was discarded by a major power as being too low-tech.
