| Thardic Legion |
The legions of Tharda are the most well organised of the military forces of Harn. The legions are based around Cohorts (of 60 men), of which there are 116 in total. These are arranged into the six legions of Tharda, plus the Red Guard, who protect Coranan.
The Tenacus, which consits of 5 men, is the basic unit of the infantry. One of these is the Milites Primus, the others are Militis Linari. Two Tenaci form to make a Maniple, the leader of which is a mounted man-at-arms called a Manus.
Each cohort has three maniples, two of which are reservists. The primary maniple is led by the Manus Primus.
A cohort also has light infantry, which is organised into Compari of eight men. These are the Milites Auxiliari, led by the Compartes. The cohort normally has a comparus of archers and one of skirmishers.
Each cohort also has a Tala of five light cavalry (the Milites Tala), led by the Sexton, who is more heavily armoured. There are two types of Tala - Tala Sagitorium and Tala Gravis. The first are mounted archers, the second are more heavily armoured, and use javelins and spears.
The governor of a legion fort will generally hold the title of Manus Primus, though in reality they may only be a Manus.
Normally a fort will consist of a Company, which consists of twenty men.
The following are examples of typical members of the Legion. In reality, skills and related attributes will vary.
