Douwa Downs

Douwa Downs is a region of hilly wilderness near the Thardic border near Eidel Province. It is mostly uninhabited, except for a single small manor.

The Old Keep

The keep was held by Sir Cadry, a young knight charged with fixing the run down keep and improving the productivity of the manor. He had a wife, Isabella, and a baby daughter born in 719.

The Keep is located on the western edge of Douwa Lake, at the mouth the river which runs down to the Eryn. Not far from the keep are quays for morring barges and small vessels. The village is about 50m along the shore of the lake.

Beneath the Keep

Beneath the keep are some cellars and dungeons, some of which are quite grotty, given that they're beneath the water level. The entrance to the cellars is within the gatehouse

The Village

The village here is only small, with about 39 people, living in 7 cottages. There's a mill, and a small smithy in the keep, but little else of interest.

Recent Events

In 720, a group led by a Knight of the Checkered Shield turned up looking for Morgath cultists. Investigation found a group of cultists living in the hills, together with an Almorvrin named Telstith.

Sir Cadfry himself was aiding the cultists, his first son being held hostage to his good behaviour by some other members of the Church. Some letters implicating Sir Cadfry were discovered in his study.

Also here was a Priest of Ilvir, a member of the Order of Churchlaen Wheelwright named Harold, and an Ivashu who was reputed to have been able to fortell the future. The Amorvrin had been performing some tests on the Ivashu, and in the process had blinded him, robbing him of his future sense.
