Temple of the Eight Demons

The Temple of Eight Demons is one of the larger temples in Coranan. It seemingly has a lot of political influence within the Senate, or at least there is a lot of activity concerning the temple and the Senate. Various rumours are doing the rounds as to what is going on, but there are few hard facts.

There is a chapter house for the Cohorts of Gashang on the premesis, which consists of four knights and two dozen men-at-arms.

The temple was founded in 715, and is built on the grounds of an old town house, which was dedicated to the order in 714. That house was burnt down, as an offering to the god of fire, and the new temple built on its place.

Since that time, a number of priestesses have vanished without trace, or have been found raped and mutilated down river. Herpa the Mace have been blamed.

Politics are very important to the Order, and a number of the priestesses here are dedicated full time to political advancement for the Order.

Priests

The temple here is not large enough to have the full complement of Masters, so most take on dual responsibilities. As well as those listed below, there are three Heruchai (Lieutenants), and seven Agnichari (acoloytes).

Viriahn (High Priest)

The High Priestess is Viriahn Escheltha, an old woman in her sixties, who has a single minded devotion to her god that puts most other priests to shame. She has a keen mind, a sharp wit, and knows the ins and outs of Church politics to a fine degree.

She wears dark, thick robes whenever in public, which, it is said, hide hideous burns she has inflicted upon herself in honour of her god.

Aperahkai (Master of Propagation)

The Aperahkai is Veneera.

Aperalis (Master of Acolytes)

Aperalis Genora also takes on the duties of the Apervisha, Aperagris and Apertahn.

Aperphelis (Master of Treasures)

Aperphelis Janeena also holds the title of Apersuphur. She is a young woman, not yet 30, but is beautiful, passionate and loves her work with a devotion close to madness. Everyone is scared of her.

Aperhanar

Kelyni is 27, and has only been recently selected to the post. She eyes the title of Aperterahn with interest.
