Temple of Larani

The Temple of Larani is the largest in the city, and is the Harnic headquarters of the clerical Order of Hyvrik. The temple has its own stables, bonded ostler, weaponcrafter, and a chapter house for its fighting order the Checkered Shield.

The People

The temple is run by Serolan Kaston Merila, an aging man in his sixties with grey hair and failing eye sight. There are another fourteen priests, five of whom have martial training. Kaston is also Turintesa (Grandmaster) of the Order of Hyvrik in Kanday.

The priest Ustran handles the day to day running of the Temple, and is the person most likely to be met by visitors who need to speak with someone of authority.

The head librarian is Alia, a priestess of 35. It is her duty to keep the records of the Temple intact, to oversee the copying and updating of holy texts, and also to teach younger priests the rituals of the faith.

Kaston Merila

Description

Kaston is an old man, with grey hair and a friendly, wrinkled face.

Background

Kaston is Serolan of the Temple at Aleath, and Grandmaster of the Order of Hyvrik. Much of his work involves issues that go far beyond the temple, so he leaves much of the day to day running to Ustran.


Ustran

Priest of the Order of Hyvrik at Aleath

Description

A slightly clumsy middle aged man, always smiling and joking with those around him.

Background

Ustran is in charge of the temple acolytes, and also sees to the day to day running of the temple.


Alia

Priestess of the Order of Hyvrik

Description

A dark haired woman, short and thin. She is soft spoken and neatly dressed.

Background

Alia is responsible for the temple library, its artifacts, and the care and teaching of knowledge. She is has much knowledge of most of the invocations of her faith, having been taught them specifically so that she could pass her knowledge onto others. She is an excellent tutor.
