Tuffin Wood

Tuffin Wood is a region of heavily wooded hills and plains on the southern border of Cadwold. The northern half of the woods are claimed by Cadwold, the rest by Weideny. However, in reality neither have any real control of the region, though a number of Weidanic forts along the northern edge of the woods tends to add weight to the Kingdom's claim to the woods.

As with most similar regions, the woods are home to a number of outlaw groups, mostly contenting themselves with living off the land and not venturing into more civilised areas.

The largest group is a tightly knit band who follow the goddess of shadows, Besenreth. They are known as the Rangers, and their main goal is to keep out of world affairs, though both sides are trying to drag them into the war (mostly by assuming that they are the enemy until they prove otherwise).

The woods are relatively safe, with few if any trolls or similar beasts. There is one place however, a valley in the northern woods, where an old temple named the Pools of Sorrow to the Elders still lingers. It is the lair of ghouls and other darkness, and is avoided by all.
