Cunith Battlecrow, Queen Frythrun.

Sexrun Whiteheart

In 1195 Sexrun takes over command of the Red Guard and leads them in a battle against her sister Cynehild and the previous captain of the Guard, Cunith Battlecrow. The latter were plotting against Queen Frythrun.

Sexrun has the bodies of those who fought against the Queen stripped and mutilated, then hung up in front of the castle at Stowell as a lesson to others. Their remains still hang there to this day.

She also has the body of the Queen's sister Eadgifu the White whipped and dragged through the streets before being hung with her daughters, even though Eadgifu was generally considered to be innocent.

Before 1195, Sexrun was a reasonably obscure relative of the Queen. After those events, she rose to prominence and notoriety as Captain of the Red Guard until her death in 1221. She took part in several other bloodlettings, including an expedition to the south where she caught up with and killed Cynehild. It is rumoured that she kept Cynehild alive under torture for three weeks before eventually allowing her to die.

Sexrun had one daughter, Cendrun the Tall, who was conceived whilst Sexrun was in Midlaen.
