Gaers Lake

Gaers Lake

A lake fed from Dagsdil Moor and the Teal River. It is a shallow lake, its shores marshy and indistinct. The southwestern shores of the lake are particularly difficult to define, for they consist of a league of wetlands half way between solid ground and water. There are regions here were small dead woods can be found sprouting from the water.

The name means Lake of Grass, and in dry years many low islands become visible, quickly sprouting grasses and other plant life before vanishing the following year as the lake rises again.

The lake drains through Wicky Fen and ultimately to the Teal River.

Population

There are a number of villages around the shores of the lake, the inhabitants of which make their living farming or fishing.

Pikely town is on the northern shore, and is the largest settlement on the lake.
