Estwed Shire

The shire of Estwed has a long and spotted history, though it is most famous for being the home of the infamous Cult of Asabeth, though that cult has long since gone from these lands. Estwed is by far the largest of the shires, having merged with the old shires of Eastmarch and Southwood in 1176 due to the gradual drop in population of the latter two, making their existence as seperate political entities pointless.

The influence of the House of Eanwulf within Estwed, and their desires to extend it to three shires, may have also been a factor.

Estwed is heavily forested, and actually has quite a low population given its size. Its major export is salt, followed by coal and timber. The salt mines of Estwed are the major source of salt throughout northwest Euressa.
