ESU Fleet

The ESU prefers long ranged weapon systems over other forms of combat. Fleet doctrine is to provide large amounts of support for their capital ships, in the form of cruiser class vessels equipped with shorter range weapons, leaving capital ships to focus on, often spinal mounted, long range beam and torpedo weapons.

Escorts

Cossack Strike Boat

Cossack Strike Boat Cossack Strike Boat

Class: Strike Boat (SB)
Mass: 14
Points: 49
The Cossack class is a fast, fragile ship designed to get in fast, deliver it's payload and get out again as quickly as it can. Equipped with 5 submunition packs, it is a single shot mobile launch platform designed to take on small to medium sized vessels. Due to its fragility, it normally keeps out of combat until the enemy is already engaged, forcing them to decide between destroying the short term threat of the strike boat or taking on longer term threats of larger vessels.

Poryshkin Corvette

Poryshkin Corvette Poryshkin Corvette

Class: Corvette (CT)
Mass: 18
Points: 60
Equipped with two class 2 beam weapons, the Poryshkin has considerable weapon range for its ship class. It is designed to combat other small vessels from behind the 'line of battle'. It is susceptible to fighter attack however, and general orders are to seek cover under the protective aegis of escort cruisers if fighters are coming their way.

Kunitsa Frigate

Kunitsa Frigate Kunitsa Frigate

Class: Frigate (FF)
Mass: 24
Points: 80
Designed as a close range support vessel, the Kunitsa sacrifices medium range effectiveness for short range versatility and limited anti-fighter capability. It is often used as an escort for support ships.

Ural Destroyer

Ural Destroyer Ural Destroyer

Class: Destroyer (DD)
Mass: 34
Points: 112
The Ural class of destroyer is designed to support capital class vessels, providing all-round firepower for use against enemy vessels that get within close range.

Cruisers

Kiang Light Cruiser

Kiang Light Cruiser Kiang Light Cruiser

Class: Light Cruiser (CL)
Mass: 54
Points: 175
The Kiang class of light cruisers is designed for close combat effectiveness, its primary weapons being class 1 beams. It is also equipped with submunition packs and anti-fighter point defence systems. The Kiang is designed to make up for the ESU's lack of close range weapon systems in its larger ships, and provides a flexible shield for dreadnaughts and battleships.

Oriskansky Escort Cruiser

Oriskansky Escort Cruiser Oriskansky Escort Cruiser

Class: Escort Cruiser (CE)
Mass: 68
Points: 228
Like all escort cruisers of the major nations, the ESU's Oriskansky is heavily equipped with area defence systems in order to protect the fleet from fighter and missile attacks. It is heavily armoured, and has some limited anti-ship capability, but its primary weaponry are twelve point defence systems.

Xinglong Heavy Cruiser

Xinglong Heavy Cruiser Xinglong Heavy Cruiser

Class: Heavy Cruiser (CH)
Mass: 90
Points: 310
The Xinglong class of heavy cruisers carries a formidable array of half a dozen class 3 beam weapons as its primary armament. This allows it to out range most other ships of its class. This heavy armament comes at a cost however, and the Xinglong is quite slow. It is tough and well armoured though.
